Are You Curious? Like Comedy?

Yes? And....yes? I have the perfect place for you! Curious Comedy in Portland, Oregon. Some of you know that Rex and I are involved with Comedy Sportz in Portland. We have been through the 101 class and often spend our Wednesday nights with other crazies who take the risk doing improve comedy. If you didn't know - now ya do. We have a blast and have met great people there.

(Hey - you interpreters out there - this is an AMAZING way to get used to being on stage and hearing your own voice and - most importantly - having fun making mistakes - we celebrate them!!! Not something we get to day in our day job. AND - it helps with anxiety - face your fears baby...ask me more about that if you want.)

A couple of the people we met, and their friends, have ventured out and established Curious Comedy Productions. They are a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation and the first non-profit theater in Portland to be devoted entirely to the art of comedy. They not only have a theater space with Sketch Comedy shows, and Improv Comedy shows, but also offer Improvised Musicals, Short Play Frenzies, Stand Up Comedy and Kids Shows!! Classes in all forms of comedy are also offered for kids, teens, and adults.

Rex and I attended a long form improv show last week and had a great time. I do realize that for people who are not familiar with improv - it may a be a bit of an adjustment at first. NO script, No plan, just a start, something in the middle, and an end. Fluidity my friend....what will be will be. Sketch comedy includes a script - so check out that too!

Curious Comedy is located in Vanport Square at 5225 NE MLK Blvd, PDX. Their website is chock full of information about all the shows they are offering right now, the classes, etc, etc. PLEASE check them out! www.curiouscomedy.org

Wow... another of your talents comes out! I would love to come see... I don't think I would be the one up on stage with the microphone, though -- can I just watch?? :) I'm not really afraid of speaking in front of people, I'm just really not very funny!
